Meet the Founder: Tracy Carden-Mason, the Heart Behind Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures + MORE
From a small artisan shop in Elyria to a 9,000-square-foot marketplace in North Olmsted, Tracy Carden-Mason has built a business around handmade goods, independent makers, and the belief that small businesses can accomplish more together.
A Small Shop with a Big Idea
Every shop has a story, and Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures + MORE began in Elyria, Ohio, in November 2018.
Tracy Carden-Mason opened the original shop with just over a dozen artisan businesses, bringing together independent makers and their handcrafted products in one shared retail space. What began as a relatively small storefront would grow through several locations into a much larger destination for handmade and specialty goods.
From the beginning, the shop offered something beyond a conventional gift store: a place where shoppers could discover products made by individual creators, while those creators could introduce their work to a wider audience.
A Business Built Around Handmade Goods
Tracy is also a maker herself. Her work includes bath and body products such as soaps, lotions, and lip balms, along with candles, wax melts, tumblers, and coffee mugs. She has also developed household cleaning products, including laundry detergent, dish soap, and toilet bowl cleaners.
These products are part of the broader collection that defines Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures + MORE. Rather than focusing on a single product category, the store brings together a variety of handcrafted and specialty items from independent vendors.
The result is a shopping experience where customers can explore different makers, discover unexpected finds, and shop for gifts and everyday favorites in one place.
Growing Together with Local Artisans
One of the defining features of Tracy’s business is its shared approach to retail.
Instead of building the shop around one brand alone, Tracy has made room for other small businesses to sell their work alongside her own. Each vendor brings something different to the store, creating a wider assortment of products than any one maker could offer independently.
In a March 2025 article announcing the shop’s move to Great Northern Mall, Tracy described the relationship simply:
“They need me, and I need them.”
She explained that the arrangement works both ways: the vendors benefit from having a place to sell their products, while the combined businesses make a larger store possible.
That cooperative model remains central to the shop’s identity. Behind the displays and shelves are individual makers, each with products and creative work of their own.
A New Chapter in North Olmsted
In March 2025, Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures + MORE opened its new location at Great Northern Mall in North Olmsted, following its move from Elyria.
The relocation came as construction affected the previous location, and Tracy also saw an opportunity to expand the business. The new store was reported to be nearly 9,000 square feet, compared with approximately 5,000 square feet at the previous location.
The larger space created room for an expanded marketplace featuring handmade goods from dozens of local vendors.
Among the makers highlighted in the announcement were Love Cotton, known for handmade cotton baby products, and Henrietta Honey, a Sheffield Lake business offering locally sourced honey.
For Tracy, the move represented an opportunity to continue growing the business while maintaining the vendor-centered approach that had helped shape it from the beginning.
More Than a Place to Shop
The shop’s vision extends beyond its merchandise.
Tracy has also planned craft classes, cupcake decorating activities, and community gatherings designed to give customers opportunities to participate, learn, and connect. Events discussed during the 2025 relocation included family activities, board game nights, and a nonalcoholic paint-and-sip event.
These activities reflect another dimension of the business: bringing people together around creativity, shared interests, and the enjoyment of making things.
Today, Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures + MORE continues to bring together independent makers and shoppers in its North Olmsted location. The assortment spans handmade gifts, bath and body products, home décor, accessories, and much more, with offerings that change as vendors bring in new creations.
